Alumni-founded Telerik Academy is Forbes Bulgaria’s Company of the Year
Forbes Bulgaria honored Telerik Academy with its grand prize at the magazine’s 2020 Business Awards. After first winning the trophy in the education sector category, the company stood out among fierce competition from the IT, finance, production, trade, service and agriculture sectors to win Company of the Year.
Founded in 2009 by AUBG alumni Svetozar Georgiev (’00), Boyko Iaramov (’00) and Vassil Terziev (’01), together with Hristo Kosev, Telerik Academy helps children, students and working professionals develop their digital and software skills. In just over a decade, the academy has trained thousands of people who now lead Bulgaria’s growing IT industry.
“I am extremely happy that a company working in the education sector is Company of the Year,” said Alexandra Mechkova, CEO of Telerik Academy. “We can say that talent is our biggest resource as a country and we invest a lot in its development.”
The Forbes Business Awards recognize some of the best Bulgarian companies in 14 categories. Their goal is to foster entrepreneurial spirit, good business practices and social responsibilities, thus inspiring Bulgarians to follow their dreams.
